What’s the best way to seal kitchen cabinets as a protectant. .? Was considering wax since polyurethane is such a big project.

It looks as if your cabinets are already sealed. Adding something else on top of the original sealer may cause them to have build up or a waxy feel. I would suggest using a cleaning product like Murphys Oil Soap made for sealed wood, and then lightly wiping them with a furniture polish that will not cause wax build up.

If you know the brand of the cabinets, look it up on line for manufacturer's advice regarding care.

Polyurethane is the best way to seal your cabinets.

They are polished but not sealed. As they damage very easily. Idk if this matters they are brand new and put in by builder, newly built house. Yes I’ve been using pledge for all surfaces on them.

I have built cabinets (all in my house and others). They need a hard protectant, not soft wax. Three coats of polyurethane are needed. The more glossy, the harder the finish. Rub down after coats one and two have dried with 0000 steel wool. Make sure you clean off dust of any kind between coats. Tack cloth works well. After the third coat, nothing else is needed. (Unless you want a fourth coat.) I do this on all furniture I build.

Remove doors and all hardware. Lay doors flat across something, maybe saw horses, or strips of wood. I start with cheap plastic on the bottom, lay skinny strips of wood, the doors on top. Once one side is dry, flip over.
