There are lots of DIY directions for using the head board and foot board for a bench. Pinterest also has a lot of pictures so you ca get ideas.

We used a twin sized headboard for ours. We simply made a rectangle frame out of 2x4's that is the same width as the headboard. Then, we attached it to the headboard, and added 1x4's to make a seat. I painted to rest of the bench before adding the seat boards to make it easier.
