Planter boxes for outside

    you can make them from any material that will hold up under outdoor conditions if you buy a liner of some sort such as plastic or metal planter boxes or get thin metal sheet and make your own liner. Just make sure there are holes in the bottom of both for drainage.

    any container can bwcome a planter. of course some are better suited but even a cardboard box with a plastic liner will last for awhile depending on the weather. rain will shorten its life span. best container is more durable with sone drainage holes or space where excess wster can run out. i have used old rubber boots water troughs baby bathtub. thus did not have holes so i was continually draining it.

    Get a cd rack from charity shop take the wood out that makes the compartments put a few holes for drainage and you have a flower box

    Depending on how big and deep you want it, you can use fence pickets also. Rubbermaid containers work, just drill holes i the bottom for drainage. I did some. Even spray painted them.

    Depending on the location, I find cinder blocks strategically placed make for a versatile and weather-hardy, as well as economical planter/ing boxes.
