Kind of paint to paint ceiling fan shades that are opaque?

    Are they glass, metal or fabric type shades? I have seen all three types. Respond below, okay?

      They are glass. I was worried about how hot they might get. So I wanted paint that would not catch fire.

    Use Rustoleum spray paint in your choice of color.

      Oh, the globes not the fan itself - sorry I thought you meant the fan blades. I would not paint the globes, you can buy new ones very inexpensive at Home Depot or Lowes.

    Are you trying to keep them opaque?

      No. My light over the sink is white. Was trying to keep them sort of matching. I bought the shades at goodwill. Weren't exactly what I wanted. But for $.99 each couldn't pass them up.
