Snake thingy....sorry don't know proper terminology, go to lowes, it almost looks like an oversized retractable dog leash, but it's got a twist lever thinga-majigger and you can't stick it down a drain and crank the lever and hair and gunk and stuff will come up😳....very rewarding after you use it!!! First try boiling water. Then equal parts baking soda and plain white vinegar. Baking soda first, then vinegar in the drain. It will bouble like a science experiment. Wait about 30 minutes, then boiling water.
You didn't say if it is bathroom or kitchen or laundry room, etc. If bathroom, get the stick with the barbs on it to pull out the hair first. Get as much as you can. Then put down a 1/4 cup of baking soda followed by the straight vinegar. Let that bubble for ten to fifteen minutes. Put down a gallon of boiling water to wash everything away. If it is kitchen just do the baking soda, vinegar, boiling water. If it doesn't work, try again. There is always a chance the blockage is too far down the pipe and will need to be roto rootered. If you use this treatment occasionally, I do it at least once a month, it will help keep the pipes clean and without gunk slowing down the drain. Do it as soon as the drain starts draining slowly.

Baking soda and vinegar if it's hair. Drano if it's grease.
