If you live in an area that gets snow, you should bring them indoors. The pots will collect snow/water and could crack if they freeze.
What Zone are you in? Chances are your flowers are spring and summer flowering variety and go dormant during the winter months. Depending on where you live, you can purchase plants that will be pretty during the winter months.
Take the pots into a shed or garage if you have cold winters with snow. If you leave them out they will crack and break.
