How to Paint burlap?

    its easy. Any acrylic paint or even chalk paint will work.

  • I have painted (stenciled) on burlap. I used acrylic, chalkboard and Fusion Mineral paint. I didn't seal any of the toss pillows I made because they are strictly for staging (no one touches them :))

    We had a neighbor who covered a plaster wall with burlap to cover some damage. Later on she decided to paint it and it took copious amounts of primer and paint to cover.

    Did you just want to paint letters or pictures? Sharpies paint markers are great on burlap.

    Thanks for all the ideas everyone! The Sharpie Paint Markers worked fantastic on top of the several coats of paint and Stiffy. They were so easy and fun to use! Here is a pic of a baby shower door decoration I made before it was stuffed. I'll add baby's name, etc in gold & outline in black once she's born.
