My family room is under my master bathroom. The toilet seal leaked thought the ceiling a little. The Seal was replaced. need. Now the ceiling is dripping water is has from somewhere. Some of he tape is splitting apart. Now there are 2 drips. I am worried the garden tub is going to come through the floor. My husband checked the tub, with no, leaks. Suggestions! Please!

Start with calling a plumber, this is a job out don't want to get involved with. When I was kid through the ceiling came the tub, right on the kitchen floor. It's amazing no one was hurt. The problem was, the over flow in the tub, didn't go done the pipe, it leaked off the pipe, on to the top of the ceiling, and the plaster broke, and the floor rotted away. It couldn't hold the tub any more. Nip this in there bud quickly, ASAP.
i agree with Ebb. The Black is mold growing. It will keep the ceiling wet.
Stop. Calm down. It’s just water. Now think about the situation. The damage to your ceiling is bad enough that it requires removing the old damaged section to properlet repair it. Is that something that you feel comfortable doing? If the answer is no then it time to hire someone. If yes then simply cut out the area and look inside to follow the damage back to the leak. This is what a pro will do too. Now are you comfortable with doing plumbing repairs? If so find and repair the leak but do not repair the ceiling yet. Allow some time to see if your plumbing repair is working. It will only take a few days to be sure and it will allow the wood surfaces to dry before covering them back over with drywall. Now if you’re sure to leak is fixed and the water is dry check for rotten wood by poking the wood with a screwdriver everywhere it is discolores by the leak you will know if it’s rotted because the screwdriver will sink into the wood. No damage (let’s hope) then repair the ceiling a paint! The only part of this project that maybe outside of a DIYers abilities is repairing rotten boards. If you need instructions on how to do it just reply to this message and I can explain. This isn’t a small job but if you break it down into parts it is doable. Most of all just remember the pros are only human too. If they can do it so can you but you can afford your labor rates!

You have a mess. You will not only have to find the leak, but you will want to take down this part of the ceiling and check for mold...then replace! Get on this quickly as mold spreads fast!!!
If the leak has been fixed, the sheetrock will take some time to dry out. Try to get some air flow that is pointed toward the ceiling, like a box fan tilted toward the ceiling. Also, this will help the mold from spreading. Get it dried out and then start checking the stability of your sheetrock and make sure it has not disintegrated and wood is stable. Hopefully sheetrock and wood will be stable and then you can possibly clean it up with replacing/repairing the sheetrock.
I had a leak just like yours. Don' t delay if you see the stain getting bigger...our ceiling stain was much smaller but insulation between the ceiling and floor was soaked and holding a lot of water !! We ended up removing some flooring in the bathroom to access the leak vs removing the ceiling below. I guess I'm saying don't delay however you get to the wet stuff.
