I think decorating would be nice. Will just add to the possibilities of the house

  • Consult with your realtor. You do not want your decor to take away from selling features of your home because they are distracted. Keep it subtle, low key and tasteful.

Do it, might be an eye catcher.

I think Naomie is right. Talk to your realtor. I know that they told us to take all of our personal stuff down because they want the buyer to envision what they have, not what you have. But, other areas may be different. Your realtor would know. https://www.hometalk.com/diy/decorate/rooms/hot-glue-placemats-29009675?expand_all_questions=1

Yes, although your realtor will ask you to keep it toned down. You want your house to look spacious, but festive. It is especially important to make the front of the house look well-tended to and brightly lit, even in the daytime, while your house is for sale. Most people make up their minds about your house before they even open the door. Best wishes 😇

Yes you should. I'm a realtor. Just don't over do it. Make it tasteful.

I would for added effect, but just enough to make the house look warm and inviting.

It's sounds like you really want to decorate for the holidays! I am an interior designer. There are a few things to consider. Always remember you are trying to create an environment where potential homebuyers can visualize their own furnishings and personal possesions Keep in mind you are trying to make your home appear to have maximum space, so clutter is not advised. Refrain from overtly religious holiday decor. If you can decorate with restraint I'd suggest a minimum of items to include, a festive wreath on your front door, if you have a fireplace mantle add a few candles, a garland, and some small decorative items. If you have a formal dining room, an arrangement on the table would be nice. If you have children, I would include a small to midsize tree with limited ornaments. Try monochromatic or themed decor so your home has a styled appearance so visitors will feel your home can be the home of their dreams. Just do not go overboard. Have fun, Good luck, and Happy Holidays 🤗

No, perhaps a wreath on the door, nothing more. The more personal items you can remove while selling the house the better. That is why staged homes are so appealing, they look ready for a magazine. None of us live like that of course, but it appeals to the buyer because they can then imagine their own personal touches.

This could be your last Christmas in your home before it sells. Yes, decorate, as you would, and enjoy the remembrance. Happy Holidays!

I would definitely decorate, maybe not as crazy as usual, but still enjoy the season. Our last house sold 2 days after Xmas with all the decorations and 3 young children enjoying all their new toys. It had been on the market for a year and a half.

As a former real estate broker. Decorate! Don't let the sale of the house ruin your Holiday! It also can be a great selling feature. Decorating the outside of the house for the Holidays shows the warmth and caring of the family living there. The h*ll what your realtor says. Their opinion is subjective, their point of view, and would be different from one realtor to another. Everyone decorates for the Holidays in some shape or form. Faith is not a factor. I know several Jewish families that celebrate Hanukkah but also decorate for Christmas for their kids and family. It's a Holiday!
