Hello Jean! Teal looks super with white. I have a rug with teal and white and it is my favorite. Often, though, the colors that are opposite each other on the color wheel go well together. The color opposite teal on the wheel is coral.

What a great project! I love Teal with Coral and I also love it with a soft buttery yellow. What are accents colors that you will be using?

looks like it has white or off white in the rug. This would definitely make it stand out. If you're worried about it getting dirty, id choose one of the darker plum/maroon colors.

Black always makes a nice border and will anchor a room. Every room should have something black to anchor it. Looks like there may be black in the rug. But, it really depends on the look you are going for. I think bringing out another color in the rug is a good idea as well.
