    Termite nests are underground. Anything you do above ground will not kill the nest so they will continue to multiply. You need an exterminator to place the product they use to kill termites underground.

    That being said, if its a major problem a professional is probably the best way to get rid of the issue, especially if they are in your home.

    Termidor. It's what the professionals use and you can buy it online for way less than it would cost for someone to treat your house. It is kind of labor intensive since you have to trench around the perimeter of your house and drill holes in any concrete slabs near your foundation. There is also a product called Taurus, which is the same as Termidor, but only about $70 for a gallon of concentrate. Our house is about 60'x28' and one gallon was enough to go all the way around, with some left over.
