tie yarn to pinecones and add bits of white paint for "snow" (don't know if you're a glitter fan,but that could be added). For the outside, smear peanut butter or other nut butter on the pinecones (kids love this part!), then roll the cones in birdseed and hang outside for your Winter friends.

Or maybe Salt dough, using cutters to make Christmas figures for your tree or as gifts. They can paint them themselves add beads, ribbon or glitter etc great fun and very cheap to do. Have fun.

Depending the ages of the children, you can make jewelry or ornaments with raw pasta (mostaccioli, bow ties, ect) Just put a tablespoon of rubbing alcohol in a large zip bag and add a few drops of food coloring. You can make different colors if you like. Then string it with string or yarn. I had a lot of fun with my own kids with this craft. And, it's inexpensive.

    Hi,

Make an advent chest using old matchboxes. Make a Nativity scene using wooden dolly pegs, cardboard, Fabric scraps, Glue and Sharpie pens. Make snow flake decorations from old spring pegs stuck back to back and painted. Have fun!
