Lightly sand then
use a "Bonding Primer"
This primer is made specifically for Bonding paint to glossy / shiny surfaces.
All box retailer and paint stores sells this type of primer.
For Painting, may I suggest a high density 4" foam roller with a 4" paint tray.
No brush marks, nice finish.

yes..use a deglosser on them, rinse well..dry, primer, paint a couple coats of good paint..and put on a couple coats of poly.
