Any light color that will go with your exterior. There are even reflective paints.

Recently I had see a panel front door where they had painted the whole door one color but then went back and painted each section of panel a different bright color. They used 6 colors and each panel was different. I am awaiting spring to do something similar to our front door. I say have fun with it, if you dont like it, try something else or another color combination. At leadt you cant hurt the door unless you get too many layers of paint. Another idea would be to do a stain ant paint combination, paint it, sand it lightly so the wood grain shows through, stain it, and if you want more color to show go over it with another coat of light paint (watered down?) or just rub on with a clean cloth to your liking. Yellow is a bright colour could trim it out with black to really make it pop. if yellow doesn't go with the colour of your house then maybe a bright blue could work

Don't just paint the door itself... paint the tunnel too... choose a really light color that goes with the rest of the house color... then pick a fun color for the door... the lighter area around the door will call attention to it.

A bright peach or teal would look nice. I did my front and back doors teal. Our house is almond color with cedar color accents.
