If it smells like mold, pull it back in an area to see what is going on. You may need a mold remediation specialist. I wouldn't chance the health risks - handle it properly from the get go.
First, you want the area to dry. The pad is probably also wet. I would use a large rinse and vac, even if you have to rent it, and suck as much wet out of it as possible. If the mold is extensive, you may have to replace the carpet or have a specialist come in. Once you have everything dried out, you will have a better idea of the damage. Most homeowner's policies have coverage for this type of damage.

Don't use any product that tries to mask the smell. If you have mold that's dangerous.
Don't take any chances. Call insurance company and get the carpet replaced.
Time to call your insurance and get a professional with proper equipment and to get rid of the mould as that is serious as i went through the whole process as I was fortunate to have adequate coverage
If you have flood insurance and it was a flood, then call insurance to hire a specialist. Personally if its that wet, I would pull it out, once it molds its very unhealthy and can make you sick as dog. It can get into the wood and HVAC system and spread through the whole house and make the whole house unliveable.
I would still call my homeowner's insurance company to see if they can help you.
If wet carpet is touching drywall, it wicks up into the drywall and molds the walls also, so do it quick.
