The lantern would be in the middle. How do I attach fake garland, bow etc so
its one piece to place in the centre of the table. I want burlap bows,

Yo can use hot glue. If you don’t want some so permanent you can use the command hook stickies.
  • Assemble your centerpiece on a spare plate or serving tray. You can pick up inexpensive odd serving pieces almost anywhere . . . Garage sales, thrift shops, etc. If you do not have any. That way when you need to move it or clean you just pick up the tray and move it.

Hello! Yes, get yourself a hot glue gun and some glue sticks. You will use it often for various crafts. It is an indispensable tool for projects such as the one you mention.

This is a Christmas table from many years ago. I used a wreath and there is one hung above also. I made this tablecloth and actually quilted it! There was a small present at each place. I don't remember if the table wreath was decorated.

You could use an old cake board, cheeseboard or large plate which you can cover to suit placing your lantern in the middle and decorating with your garland and bown, holly etc.

If you don't have a plate, you could also use a left-over piece of wood. I would paint it green - similar to the greens color so you don't have to worry about anything showing through. Then use hot-glue to attach anything you want. I'd start on the lantern, but if you don't want anything on it, then start where the bottom of the lantern hits the wood. Wishing you the best! Happy crafting.

Or get a cheap charger plate frome Michaels or Joanna or dollar store so you have enough room for everything. Personally I would not glue it all to lantern because lanterns can cross over many seasons and then you wouldn't be able to use it again. Oh also if you can find a tree trimming company ask if they have any scraps or better said cuts that still have bark on them that you can maybe get for free. It's just that lanterns remind me of a homey warm style from nature and a piece of wood, would look so awesome if you like that rustic look.
