There are vertical blinds in new house

One of the window blinds will not open all the way. It feels like the string is hanging up right at the top of on the bottom roller. I can't see any knots but it won't budge. Any ideas? Thank you.

@Muriel Sometimes it is not a knot but the strings can become twisted together which will cause it to behave that way. A button can help, run each string through one of the holes.

I don't understand the concept of a 'button'. Putting pictures on here to see if my question might be clearer. Thank you Susu.

@Muriel : Be sure that the blind is opened up and then try to get it to work. Ours will go up when they are in any mode (open/slanted, etc.) but will not return to the starting position until they are open.

This goes from left to right, not up and down -Peggy. I can't get them to open up all the way.. They lack about 18 inches from being open. Thanks from trying.

Thanks Peggy. Did try what you came back with but that didn't get it either. :( Thanks for the answers, but I'm still hoping for more ideas.

It's probably one on the end, i'm guessing, cause mine did the same thing. Take the blind off, open blinds all the way, re-insert blind going the same way as the others then try to open and close. hope this works for you as this is what i had to do to mine.

Worth a try. We won't be 'home' until October, but will check it then. Thanks Margie Bloyd :)

I had this problem when I opened the windows and a strong breeze blew the blinds outward and one of the blinds got out of place...look along the top edge as you slowly try to open the blinds to make sure one is not in the wrong position, if so it will hold back the blind next to it so that it can't pivot to open. To fix it pull out both blinds towards you and slightly twist to get them back in order.
