Sores on cats legs- is it something in the house?

I got pills from the vet but no matter what I do to hide them, he will not eat them. He won’t eat wet food or any kind of table food. Wondering if there is anything I can put on the sores from my medicine cabinet

Hi Connie, check with your local pet shop. There is a product in Australia called Gamawash for dogs, not sure if suitable for cats. Alternatively you could place the tablet in the cats mouth. Hold the cats mouth closed, tip the cats head back untill it has sollowed the tablet. My Mum used to do this with her dogs. It worked every time. You can allso masaged the cats throat to help the tablet go down more easily to. Good luck. Kay Adelaide Australia

Our cat gets pills twice a day... no option... make cat sit (or have some one hold him (wrap in a towel if needed..... tilt nose toward ceiling...tell him : Take your pill" open mouth, insert pill, and push far enough down that he can't spit it out... massage his throat with a downward motion to get pill down a little further...give him a treat.. Ours gets 1/4 of a Fancy Feast.... be Firm, he WILL get used to taking the pills... ours ran at first.. and he would get pulled out from under the couch if necessary... now he just sits and waits for the pill ( actually he races us to the dresser) and to get his treat... we give it to him on the top of the dresser (where the other cats and the dog can't get to him). Persistence is the key... you are bigger than he is !

YOUR cat could have an allergy to flea bites.. the Vet would be the one to tell you what needs to be done... and have them demo for you how to give the cat a pill

You can also get pill crushers from the pharmacy which will grind tablets into a fine powder. Mix it into a very, smelly, wet cat food that your fella likes.
