Sometimes it is really lovely to sit back and enjoy simplicity.

When simple also equals beautiful then it is even more fun! These Holiday Tree Decorations are both beautiful and something you will want to get out year after year!

This Super simple DIY will show you 3 different looks that are so each to achieve you can even do them with the kids!
Beautiful Baubles 3 ways!
What do you think? Hand painted and very beautiful. You have to believe me when I tell you, you can do this in just a few minutes!
Step 1.
Gather your materials.
  • Clear plastic (or glass) tree baubles
  • Acrylic Craft Paints (metallics, red, brown or just the primary colours)
  • An old gift card or hotel key
  • A small paint brush
  • Paper Plate
  • Kitchen Paper
  • Sanding pad (optional)
I bought my baubles at Michaels but you can get them all over.
You could even paint over old baubles you no longer like!
Everything you need!
Once I gathered my kit I started out by mixing my colours. If you have bought your red/bown ready mixed you can skip this step.
Mix your colours
Step 2.
To create a bright orangey red I mixed yellow and red and to create brown I mixed blue and red.
Use the card to make brown likes (twigs)
Step 3.
I took my old gift card and using the brown paint I created 'twigs' around the bauble. Dont worry - if you go wrong you can simply wipe it off!
Use the Orange to create 'berries'
Step 4.
Next I used the non-bristle end of my paint brush to create 'Berries'. See - I told you it was easy!
Leave it like this if you like!
So pretty, and you can have plenty of attempts since the paint will wipe right off when it is still wet if you dont like it!

You could finish there, but I have 2 other looks to show you!
Pour the paint inside the bauble
Step 5.
To add some extra sparkle I decided some of my ornaments would look really pretty with a pearl behind the berries, so I poured in pearl coloured acrylic paint.
Step 6.
I 'Swirled' the paint until the inside was fully covered.
Step 6.
Replace the 'topper' once the paint is dry!
Step 7.
For a different look I took another bauble and lightly sanded the outside to create a 'key' ready to paint.
Step 8.
Using Dollar Store Metallic Gold paint I dabbed 2 coats of paint lightly over the entire bauble.
Once dry I repeated the steps above.
Do it in exactly the same way! This time however you cannot easily wipe away any mistakes!
They look so pretty and make you feel like a real artist! You can use this same technique on cards or wrapping paper for something really special!
