Looking for recommendation for a spray gun!
I have a few dressers I like to paint. The dressers I painted so far, always show brush strokes or little bubbles using the roller. I was hoping that painting with a spray gun would give me a very smooth surface. Any recommendations regarding the make of a spray gun and most of all, does it give a smooth surface? Thank you!

Ann Cherkas Halsteadon Nov 20, 2017i do 2 coats of chalk paint and there are no brush strokes. Then wax it. A spray gun is a pain to clean but it will give a smooth finish.HelpfulReply

Johnavallance82on Nov 20, 2017Have you sprayed large things before, as I think it is an art. Maybe if you take it slower and use a lighter touch, you may have more success with a brush or roller...........They also make sponge type brushes and there is also a roller system, where the paint goes into the roller and is sold on T.V they looks good.HelpfulReply

Janet Panoson Nov 20, 2017Best method I used to get rid of brush strokes is to apply the final coat with a roller. The great thing is that there are medium-sized, small, and miniature rollers available that can fit into and around small spaces!HelpfulReply

Bijouson Nov 20, 2017Spray guns are great, but they need a lot of practice and a very fine tip for a smooth surface. You also need a compressor for the gun. Consider investing in better brushes, add a paint extender and make sure you are using a good latex. Don't continue to "work" the paint back and forth. Exposed to air paint starts to set up, hence stroke marks. By adding the extender the paint will have time to lay down. Good luck.HelpfulReply
