With all of the cooking and baking we've been doing lately we've found ourselves with a plethora of soup cans. I've been washing them out and setting them aside waiting for inspiration to strike. Well, who knew that inspiration would come in the form of my 11 year old daughter. Using any excuse to glitter things she created this super Simple Soup Can Vase in an hour. We just added some dollar store faux flowers spray painted with.....you guessed it.....more glitter. I mean seriously how could you not love glitter?! This makes an easy and beautiful centerpiece for the holidays that guests can take with them. Plus, there's glitter!

You will need the following items for your vase:

1 soup can; empty
1 container of Mod Podge craft glue
1 foam craft brush
1 spoon
Glitter colors of your choice
Faux flowers optional

*I recommend using a safe edged can opener, so even the smallest helpers can participate*
Remove the labeling from the can and wash thoroughly. Allow to fully dry. If you can’t get all of the label residue off the can don’t worry as the glitter will cover it up. Prepare work space by setting down cardboard or newspaper.
Working in sections “paint” the craft glue onto the can using the foam brush. Pour the glitter over the glued section using the spoon until an even layer is formed, gently shaking off excess. Continue until the entire can is covered. Allow the glitter to dry 20 minutes.
Go back over the glitter with a thin layer of craft glue to seal the glitter and avoid having it transfer to other surfaces when completed. Be sure to only press lightly, otherwise the glitter will come off. Allow to dry an hour prior to handling.
Fill the vase with faux flowers for an easy centerpiece.

Freestyle Options: Drill a drainage hole at the bottom of the can and use as an herb garden or for succulents, use chalk paint to create a country chic vibe, or use chalk board paint to place a napkin inside and use as holiday s holders.
