DIY Industrial Farmhouse Shelving

I love using pipe throughout my house to build shelves! They create an industrial and rustic feel and are configurable to any size or space. Although not the most budget friendly, they do add an industrial look to your home and will be the center of attention in any room! I've now added these to my kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, and built an entertainment center out of them for our living room as well.
For this exact configuration, you will need (6) 1/2"x12" nipples, (8) 1/2"x8" nipples, (8) 1/2" floor flanges, (4) 1/2" elbows, and (4) 1/2" tees. You will also need a 1"x6" common board cut to length.

Step 1: Grab your floor flanges and your 8″ nipples. Screw each nipple into a floor flange.
Step 2: Next, take (4) of the pieces you just put together, and screw a 1/2″ tee onto the opposite end.
Take the other (4) pieces you just put together, and screw a 1/2″ elbow onto the opposite end.
Step 3: You will have (2) separate pieces when you are done. Take (2) of your completed pieces with a flange and tee, and (2) of your completed pieces with a flange and elbow, and screw them together. Make sure you completed pieces with an elbow are on the top and bottom, and the completed pieces with a tee are in the middle. Do the same with the remaining (4) pieces.
Step 4: Hang your (2) completed pieces on the wall. Make sure these are either in studs or hung with drywall anchors because this is a very heavy shelf. However far apart you hang these pieces, is how long you will want to cut your board, plus a few inches for overhang. I hung mine a little less than 3 feet apart so that I was able to cut each of my boards to 3 feet in length.
Step 5: Cut your boards to length, and set them on the pipes for shelves.

That's it! So easy and they add so much farmhouse charm! You can check out my blog for more shelving tutorials!
