Are there any chemicals I can use to unclog a toilet?

I've tried a plunger, (yes he ball shaped plunger) to no avail. I've been told that things like liquid plumber and draino will melt the wax seal. Any suggestions before I get a drain snake or call Roto rooter?

I think you are at the snake phase...maybe not..how to unclog a toilet with out a plunger...step one..squirt generous amounts of dish soap or shampoo into the clogged toilet

step 2 add a gallon of very hot water not boiling water to the bowel.

step 3 wait a few minutes and watch. The water should break up the tp and the soap should help it slide down the pipe.

I HEARD ABOUT THIS AND I TRIED AND GUESS WHAT IT WORKED. I HOPE IT DOES FOR YOU ABOUT THREE TABLESPOONS OF DAWN DISH SOAP.

I bought a cheap snake at a big box store and they work every time in one minute flat! BTW....Draino and the like never bothered my wax seal. Didn't work great on poo either. Hot water and soap takes a little time sometimes and I'm afraid to see if it works because nasty stuff might overflow.

Try a waterhose in the plugged drain or toilet..Push All the way in,while someone turns faucet on all the way...Also after this may make it better...use 1/ litter of Coke cola and 3/4 cup of baking soda in toilet to dissolve excess paper product.

I used Drano or Liquid Plumber once because I was desperate. Luckily it was a 2nd toilet. I let it sit while we went on a 4-day vacation. When we came back the clog was gone. Nothing else had worked, including snaking it. It didn't ruin the seal. TP is biodegradeable so it will eventually break down, but that is small comfort if you only have 1 toilet.

I have to say though, that at the time I had a new toilet sitting in a box. Had I known then how good it was, I would have changed it sooner. It never clogs, but the old one always did.
