Wonderful Cute Repurposed Sweater Tree Ornaments

I keep all the family's old woolen sweaters and felt them. I use the felted sweaters to make patchwork throws and cute pillows last year I made some cute cookie cutter ornaments with them (click here to see).

That's not all I then keep all the leftover bits of felt scraps from these projects to make even more crafts like Christmas felt garlands and tassels. This time I repurposed the felt scraps to make some super cute tree ornaments.

These were so easy and loads of fun to make, I ended up with my own mini forest.
These trees cost almost nothing to make. As all you need is some sweater felt scraps (you can use craft felt scraps too!). Cardboard tubes from toilet rolls, wood slices, twigs, and glue.

The first thing I did was cut open the cardboard tube and then rolled it to make a cone shape. I taped up the cone and cut the bottom flat.
Next, I cut my felt scraps into strips and gave them a very jagged edge.
Starting from the bottom of the cardboard cone and overlapping the edge. I glued a strip of the felt all the way around the cone.
I carried on doing this one layer at a time overlapping the previous layer slightly until the whole cone was covered.
To make my tree trunk using a hot glue gun I glued the twig to the wood slice.  I then glued the top of the twig to the inside of the sweater tree cone.
I ended up making a few of these trees in different shades of felt as I think they look lovely together in a kind of mini forest.

If you want to make them more Christmassy you can add some decorations to the trees like mini coloured pom poms or even a star on the top.

I left mine plain as I kind of liked their simple Scandi look.

Cute, but why does your felt look more like corduroy?
