When I first discovered these beautiful vintage Christmas free printables, I knew I had to create some wall art for my living room to add to the Christmassy vibe!
I printed these in A4 size, but in hindsight, the A3 size would be so much bigger and better for my large room. These free graphics can be found at The Painted Hive for high quality download in a few different variations in colour.
I chose the Ivory style prints with a little red, rather than the plain black versions. I printed mine on standard copy paper, but you could, of course, print them out on higher quality card for more sturdy and longer lasting use.
I then found some plain wood trim in our garage. This had a small lip along one edge which was perfect for this project, but you really only need a flat surface wood trim to make it simple. I measured two pieces for top and bottom of each sheet of paper, slightly outside of the actual paper size by about .5cm each end - to give a bit of hanging room.
I added some double sided tape to each trim, and centred the paper ends over the tape to secure it onto the wood.
I added the taped wood to both top and bottom of each piece of antique art.
I stained each piece of wood trim with a walnut stain I had on hand (Feast Watson - in Australia). Make sure to use rubber gloves for this step!

I would love to have found a better way to hang these, but best I could come up with was to tie string to each end of the top piece of wood. This wood trim is quite thin, so nails or screws were not an option or they would go right through the timber.
And here are two of them hanging above some Christmas decor in my living room. I hung the other two on the right side of this window. (see next pic)
Here's the finished look! Not too over the top Christmassy, but just perfect amount of rustic vintage Christmas charm. See how they look kind of small in comparison to the room? So if you're creating these for a bigger surface, I'd print them in a larger size format like A3.
Happy Christmas decorating! For the full post, check out my link to the original blog post.
