There’s something so beautifully nostalgic about vintage Christmas decorations. They warm the heart and bring you right back to your childhood, don’t they? Since they are so hard to find and can get pretty expensive, I thought it would be fun to make a few myself and get my DIY imagination ready for the season.
There are so many creative variations you can create – all you need are a few Christmas decor elements to get you started. I love shopping at Oriental Trading for all my DIY crafting projects. They have a huge selection and their prices are great!

Here’s a list of products you will need:
  • DIY Large Clear Photo Ornaments
  • White Glitter Pinecone Assortment
  • Goldtone Jingle Bells
  • Lace Trim
  • Boxwood Garland
  • Jute
  • Glue Gun
  • Star Decals

These vintage Christmas ornaments were so easy to make and perfect for using for your tree, garland, holiday wreath, or anywhere in your home for some beautiful vintage charm.

The large clear ornaments are perfect for creating beautiful Christmas decor. You can, of course, use them as photo ornaments too, and I have a bunch ready to go for my next DIY project.

They come apart so easily too and snap back together in seconds. I love how they already have the red ribbon added to them. Easy peasy!
I wanted to make at least one with a hanging pinecone. It was so easy to do – just add some string and glue both ends – one to the top of the ornament and one around the pinecone.

I love how it dangles and sways back and forth on the tree. The pinecones are adorable! I love the white and glittery frosting.
Once the pinecone was secure, I added the adorable jingle bells and then closed the ornament up and got it ready for the lace and jute on the exterior.
I also added some jingle bell trim to the top – you can also fill one up with just jingle bells too! That’s why I love these clear ornaments, there’s so much you can do with them.
You can fill up the clear ornaments with anything! I have so many fun ideas and can’t wait to make more.
The frosted pinecones fit perfectly inside the ornaments and make the cutest Holly Jolly Christmas jingle when moved too!
They are also perfect for decorating your door or hang from your favorite decorative garland.
