Christmas is here and the time has come to decorate and transform your space into a glittery wonderland. If you are a first time decorator or are looking for something easy and budget friendly this holiday, try this stress free secret weapon that can change an entire room with minimal supplies.

Are you ready to hear the secret ingredient? Wine glasses! There are so many things you can do with these simple glasses! They can be found in thrift stores, dollar stores and department stores. They come in many shapes, sizes and colors. Check out these three wine glass decorations that you can make with minimal budget and effort!

Centerpieces don’t have to be only flowers. Wine glasses add sparkle, height and interest to a bland table.

For this wine glass centerpiece, you will need:

A platter or tray
A mirror
Three wine glasses
Three candles
Some pine garland
Pine cones
First, place the mirror on the tray. My mirror was a little smaller than the tray, so I just centered it on there. It doesn’t have to be perfect.

Next, spray paint some pine cones to use as accents for your centerpiece. I used white, and gold glitter. Spray paint the whole pine cone or just the tops to get some different looks. You could also use Snow-tex to get some snowy globs on the pine cones if you wish.

I also added a little paint to my tray to accent the grooves around the edges, as you will see in our video.

Coil some of the pine trim around the mirror to cover up the edges that weren’t covered with a mirror.
Once you have the trim where it looks nice, add the wine glasses in the center, over the mirror.

Place some candles in the wine glasses. When they are lit, the flame will reflect in the mirror.

Finally, add some pine cones around to finish off the centerpiece and give it an extra festive look.

Some More Wine Glass Ideas:
The variations to this project are endless.
  • You could omit the tray and only use a mirror, you could wrap trim around the stems and glue pine cones to the base of the glass.
  • Look for different sized and shaped glasses and just fill the entire room with candles.
  • You could also paint your glasses, add flowers and use different heights of glasses.
  • Finally, you could flip the glasses around and insert something in the cup. Click here for the instructions and a video for this.

It is really amazing how many things you can do with something as simple as a wine glass.
