Do you have an old green wool sweater? If you do don't throw it away! If you don't you can easily buy one from your local thrift/charity shop.

You can then make the cutest Christmas tree pillow with it. No Christmas tree is complete without decoration then use your yarns scraps to make some cute colorful pom poms to decorate your tree.

This pillow will bring festive cheer to any couch or den.
Make sure your sweater is at least 70% wool and then put it into a hot wash in your machine to felt it. Felting a wool sweater is basically shrinking it, you've probably done this before by accident. I certainly have.
This sweater pillow is made in a very similar way to my very popular Mountain Pillow.

Turn the sweater inside out and draw a big as you can Christmas tree triangle as you can and then cut this out.
(This is optional) If you have a brown sweater as well you can make a small rectangular trunk for your tree. Sew your tree up either by hand or machine leaving a gap at the bottom.

Turn the tree right sides out and stuff with fiberfill and then sew up the hole.
Now comes the fun part, making small pom poms for the tree ornaments. I use a pom pom maker for this like these ones.
I made a total of 10 pom poms for my tree all in different colors.
Then to finish off my Christmas tree I simply stitched the pom poms to the tree.
