Rust on saw blades

I have some saw blades that have some rust on them and wondering if any have an idea how to get it off and so I can paints them later.

    I'd start with a soap pad like Brillo. After the blades are cleaned, go over them with a cloth soaked in some sort of oil like lemon oil to prevent rusting again.

    Try soaking them in coca cola if the rust is deep. If not a piece of steel wool should do the trick.

    I soak my files in vinegar and it gets clean.

    Buy Bar Keepers Friend from hardware, usually in cleaning area. It's like Comet but not a disinfectant. Awesome. About $3

    My husband used Coca cola . @ first i thought it is a joke , but it worked .

    Soak rusted items in straight vinegar for 3 hours, then scrub with a toothbrush. Then soak them in a solution of one part baking soda and two parts water for five minutes - rinse.
