I don't have a lot of time, so it usually takes me a while to do one project sometimes. I take my time looking for inspiration. I slowly do one step at a time on a project, just popping down to my basement for 10 minutes here or there to add something else, or another quick coat of paint. One tip so that you don't have to keep washing paint brushes during a project you want to come back to is to keep your brushes in a zip loc bag or plastic and tie a rubber band around the base of the brush to keep it moist. This way, you can come back and do another thing with paint quickly without having to rewash your brushes. I do that with brushes I am using to mod podge as well. Often, it is just using the few minutes you have to spare or knowing tips and short cuts.

Maybe you can make time by combining a couple of things. Like letting kids play together while the parents work on a craft project. Or working on crafts together as a family. Or having a tree-trimming get together potluck where everyone helps with crafts for decorating.

A person finds the time, even if it is only a few minutes a day to do a little something. If you want to do it, you find the time to do it around the other things that are done in a day. I have had projects going for a long time before I get them done.

I am retired and not physically able to do many normal activities. But DIY has added so much fun to my life. I try not to put too much on myself, and I don’t expect perfection. But Hometalkers are terrific encouragers. And most things turn out just fine. 😇

I am retired and some days have some time on my hands. I enjoy working on crafts in the evening while my husband watches TV. We camp so many times I take items with me. If you really enjoy Doing It Yourself....you will find time. In my mind, homemade or handmade, is the best gift!
