Depends upon if you want to use it indoors or outdoors and what kind of pests. Indoors I use Boric Acid. Kills darn near anything and won't hurt you and probably your animals. Our dogs and cats don't bother it when I lightly sprinkle it. You can mix with water and wash areas and leave it to dry. The is enough boric acid left behind to kill pests but not you or you pets.

  • I spray the perimeter of my property and base of my house once we month with vinegar, great for fleas and ticks. Peppermint oil for spiders. Plant onions, garlic, chives, rosemary, marigolds. Here are a few links!

Depends on the type of pests! A mixture of Borax and sugar works for ants..salt works for spiders..live traps and plugging all holes with either spray foam or foil wrap balls works for mice.

I use food grade Diatomaceous Earth - I even use it on fire ants and in my vegetable garden! Works great. You can get it at most farm supply stores or online.

Your best choice is to use a commercial pest control company. They have pesticides which are selective to the pests you need to control and will not harm your family or pets. Trying to use home made pest control remedies is a hit or miss process. Use the professionals, they are licensed and highly controlled and will not use anything which could be harmful to you.

I know that mixing Dawn dishwashing liquid with water and putting it in a spray bottle kills wasps. It coats their wings and they die. So I can imagine that it might work on any bugs. If you have aphids, lady bugs love them.

    I heard that mint helps

I tried homemade mint sprays. But they don't work all the time. Sometimes, they do help to get rid of some spiders species, ants, and other bugs. But it works if you have fewer of them, and your problem is not that big. Meanwhile, sometimes you have to contact pest control to help you out with that. When I had a similar situation, I found help on https://brightpestcontrol.com.au/pest-control-brisbane/. They quickly helped me to get rid of the spiders I had at my place. I suffer from arachnophobia, and I'm afraid of spiders. Unfortunately, I had many of them at my new house, and there were no other options for me except for calling pest control.

If they crawl, powdered boric acid works.

Not harmful to pets nor humans.

Food Grade Diatomaceous Earth also works well for crawlers. But the dust is extremely abrasive to inhale or to coat one’s hands on it- as in wear gloves and a mask.
