How To Easily Make A Beautiful Patriotic Christmas Wreath

With the holidays approaching quickly, I wanted to make a Patriotic Christmas Wreath in honor of all those who served in the military. My dad passed a few years ago and he proudly served in the Marines. My dad loved Christmas with his heart and soul, and I wanted to create this beautiful yet subtle Patriotic Christmas Wreath in honor of all those who served.
Our family has had many that have served in the military – my nephew Justin served proudly and lost his life in the army just a few years ago. My son also served in the National Guard as well. In honor of all those who served, I wanted to create a reminder this Christmas of how proud I am of them all and honor all that they have done for this country. Honoring our military is important for us to do all year-long – not just on Veteran’s Day or the 4th of July.
You can create this wreath in about an hour. It’s so easy to do. With all the holiday chaos, it’s so nice to create something fast and easy and the best part is the savings. Holiday wreaths can be so expensive! Aside from hanging one on the front door, I love hanging a wreath inside my home too.
The nice thing is this Patriotic Christmas Wreath is decorated in such a way that it can transition over to just a Christmas wreath too! Plus, you can choose any holiday decor ornaments you like. It doesn’t have to be patriotic if you don’t want it to be.
How to create this Patriotic Christmas Wreath:
First, I started with a medium wreath frame and added some boxwood garland. I always get such great deals at Oriental Trading’s craft department. Almost everything I used to create this wreath I got from them. Their prices are terrific too!
This next part is so easy to do. I wanted a medium-sized wreath but you can choose whatever frame size you want.
I used some silver tone copper wire to easily attach the boxwood garland to the frame. That part literally took me about 20 minutes to do. Once you have the boxwood garland attached, you can spend a few minutes shaping it to make sure it’s nice and full.
Then, all you need is your glue gun to start adding your decorative elements. I used some beautiful white glittered pinecones too. I love pinecones on wreaths. To keep with my Patriotic Christmas Wreath theme, I chose three large poinsettia flowers in red, white/silver and blue.
This beautiful patriotic Christmas wreath hangs beautifully inside or outside on your front door, and I made it in under two hours.
