Try pouring Draino down it or what my plumber taught us - buy Muriatic Acid, you can buy it at Walmart. Very toxic - so wear a mask and gloves and leave the house for a while.

In our experience we have found quite often that the bathroom drains need to be fished out with a unbent hanger or dollar store barbed plastic drain clearing tool if hair is the offending problem. If that isnt the case the next area is under the sink plastic trap - we have unscrewed and forced flushed and brushed out the crud in a bucket- reconnected and the drain is patent and free running. So far we havent had to use our metal snake tool with this management.

Hi Ann. I think your best option is to turn the shut off valve to the off position. Get a bucket and remove the pea trap to clean it out. There is probably a lot of gunk in there making it slow.

Use the Drano-type products like this...before going to bed, pour the product into the drain. Go to sleep. Next morning run water down the drain. Repeat if necessary. If this fails you could have tree roots or collapsed pipes.

Try wetting the sink, pour in baking soda and then enough vinegar to make it fizz and enough so that it reaches the elbow. Let it sit for a while and then rinse with hot water.
