Making Candy Lights for Christmas or Parties
This winter we've been working on making our Fairy Forest into a Winter Wonderland. We decorated each tree in the Fairy Forest differently. Which means alot of little projects like this one that I thought I'd share....
First thing you need for this is lights. Since most people usually already have Christmas lights the only cost would be the cello gift bags.
We used this method of making candy lights on two different trees. On the first one we used Icicle-Style LED because there are multiple dangling lights which would work well.
LED's don't get overly warm and use much less electricity- another bonus.
We purchased semi-clear cellophane gift bags normally used for cookies, etc. They come with coordinating twist-ties which will be used. For this version we chose green striped and red/green plaid bags. Cut the bottom off so both ends are open.
Slide about 3 sections of the hanging lights into the bag bunching them up so lights show on all sides.
Use the twist-ties to enclose the lights into the bags.
Make sure the pets get a chance to check them out!
You end up with a nice strand of festive candy lights like this.
We love how they look outside with some oversized ornaments! They give a nice glow both in the daytime and at night.
For the other tree we chose blue and pink cello bags.
We already had some strands of the color changing ball LED lights so these were even easier then the other type lights. Just cut the ends of the bags off like before and slide a bag over each ball light and twist-tie them on.
And here is how the blue/pink candy strands look at night!
We will try and post more of the projects we did along with a final video of the Winter Wonderland for our Fairy Forest. We're sure the fairies love it as much as the kids in our village do.
