Yes, turn them inside out when washing. Wash in cold water. Do not put in the dryer.

I use the Tide Dark wash in cold water and turn the articles inside out. Do not dry in the sun.
I wash my (dress clothing) blacks / navy blue clothing all together - not with other colored clothing. Mine do not get really dirty as these are "dress" clothes. I wash on the shortest cycle. I line dry in the basement. I believe that this has extended the life of the clothing.
