Erasing printed letters on an electrical wire??

Do you have any suggestion on how to erase the white text without damaging the black??

Cover with black felt marker.
Nail polish remover. It can soften the insulation a bit but when it dries everything goes back to normal.
paint with black paint
Sand it gently with 200 grit sandpaper.
rubbing alcohol
