DIY Christmas Door Decals

Looking for a simple and festive way to dress up your front door? I added a simple removable door decal to my front door this year and I love how it looks! You can even make one of these for yourself!

I used my Cricut machine to make this. If you are familiar with these types of machines (Silhouette is another one), this is super simple to create. I opened up the design space dashboard and typed in my phrase "be merry".

I moved the letters around so that they were all touching each other. This helps when cutting, and makes it easier to transfer onto your desired surface. Once i had it adjusted just right, I merged the letters and cut it. I used the white vinyl material for this.

After it's cut out, you remove the backing and then use transfer tape to apply to your surface. The transfer tape helps get everything lined up level and makes it so much easier! Last you apply it to your surface (my door in this case) using a scraper tool or a credit card to make sure it's adhered before pulling the transfer tape off. I pull it off very slowly and use a back and forth rocking motion. That seems to help the process.

Here's my front door all decked out for Christmas! I painted my front door gray a few months ago, and really love how it looks. The white wreath and lettering really pops against this color! After the holidays I plan to make another phrase that I can leave up year round! I'm all about simple Christmas decorating ideas this year!
