If the room is large enough, you could build a closet into the room itself. It would be like a box in the corner or down one wall. If there is a window in the middle of the wall, you could build closets on each side with a bench in the middle for reading and storage. You could also buy an Armoire or a wardrobe which will give you closet space. This is what they do in Europe where many houses don't have closets. Wishing you the best.

Hello! Under-the-bed storage is a great idea. Click on the link below to view. Also, a highboy is a good idea — it holds a lot more clothing than a standard dresser. There are also “free-standing“ closets for less than $25, which are sold at your local Target or other retailer. You can hang clothing as well as store folded clothes on the free-standing closet..

People have used armoires or chifforobes (one side being a long space for hanging clothes and other side with drawers) for centuries in place of built-in closets. They come in an assortment of sizes that will accommodate most bedroom sizes.

You can buy a rolling cart of drawers to put sweaters, tees, underwear, socks. If you have a door you can hang a bag that stores shoes or whatever you want. For hanging your clothes buy a rolling rack with a cover. Ikea has nice ones.
