A Snowy Luminary...❥

I had seen this idea on the internet a few times and had thought how pretty the luminaries are. I wondered if they were easy to make...and guess what ?
They are VERY EASY TO MAKE.
For this project you will need:
An old jar (I used one that was 13cm tall , with a opening that is 7cm wide)
Epsom Salts
A dish that you put the Epsom Salts and the jar into.
Glue (I used Mod Podge)

You also need string, a tealight candle, and some old Christmas decoration bits.
Paint the outisde of the jar with the glue.
I just painted 3/4 of it so there was a clear window of glass around the top .Paint half the jar.

Roll in the Epsom Salts that has been placed into the dish.
Remove and paint the other half of jar.
Then roll into the salts pressing into the jar. Patch up any gaps with glue and salts.

Leave in a sunny place to dry. Then put a coating of Mod Podge glue over the outside. This helps the salts ''stay on' the jar.

Add twine rope to neck of the jar.
And tie on embellishment - like leaves.
You can glue them on if you prefer.
Add some berries or something Christmas...
Add a tealight candle.
Gift or enjoy in your own Christmas decor.
Wouldn't a row of these look gorgeous on the mantle.
Or up the porch steps.
Or make three, set them on a rustic wood tray with handles and use as a Christmas table centerpiece.
The snowy luminary is also easy enough to create with the children too on your Christmas crafting day.

You mention glue, on the jar, to stick the salt on, then you mention Mog Pog, to seal. What glue, do you use, to stick the salt on with, or do you use mog pog for both? Allso, could you use, another type of glue and sealer, in stead of Mag pog? Many thanks in advance for your answer. Kay Adelaide Australia

If Mog Pog, is just PVA glue, watered down? Could you not buy PVA glue, and water it down a bit? I was thinking, it might be cheaper, if you want'ed to make, more than just one or two? Many thanks in advance for your answer. Kay Adelaide Australia

could you put the glue inside the jar and add Epson salt so the outside stays clean? Or will it loose the effects

Beautiful. I also made some using different types of jars. I have added two photos of the ones I have made.
