I've done a lot of painting on glass. In experiencing, I've found the best to be an oil base paint. When it dries, it won't wash off easily so it's leaves the item as pretty as when . you made it.
Oil based paint. I've bought mine in craft stores, etc. Be sure to clean the glass very good and finish up with a vinegar rinse and dry with lint free and softner free cloth.

I agree. There are a lot of colors to choose from in oil based paints. You will need a paint thinner to clean your brushes and/or rollers. FYI, very good ventilation at the very least, is necessary.
