i have no trouble putting it on walls or removing it to change my decor. depends on the paint on the walls most paints do just fine.
Have you already done this? Or are you trying to clean up someone else's masterpiece? I am not in favor of placing contact paper on walls, it can be harder (and cause way more damage than wallpaper) to remove than traditional wallpaper. Twice I have tried to remove contact paper off walls, by steaming them like you would for wallpaper. Utter disaster. I ended up just replacing the sheetrock, easier, faster and cheaper than all the man hours trying to get it off, then repair before priming and painting. I love contact paper, just not for walls.
oh please don’t contact paper walls. It’s a total nightmare. Wall paper is for walls. Contact paper is for crafting.
Hi Deanna, If you put contact paper on the walls, when it's time to remove it, heat it up with a blow dryer first and it should peel right off! Here's a link that shows you how to remove it step by step: https://www.wikihow.com/Remove-Contact-Paper
Good luck!
It should come off easily, but if not, use a wallpaper scraper. For really stubborn paper, wipe it down with liquid fabric softener and warm water. Let it sit for about 10 minutes and it should come off easily,
Well you could just use wallpaper remover ... it’s like 10-12$ at Home Depot ,, Menards ,, even Walmart as well as other alike stores.... There’s plenty left over for many more uses after.... you just paint the paper w/ it....wait a few mins... take a sharp tool like an xacto or hand scraper blade,,, that’s what I used... you slice an X or 2 across the paper repeat as needed if you have large area you will need more X’s just use common sense ,,, DON’T push too hard you don’t want to slice into the wall ,,,again,,, common sense.... the paper will simply fall off as you pull back your X slices... There are instructions on the bottle I’m sure... My husband helped me so I didn’t need to look for instructions... Well hopefully this helps someone...
