It needs good drainage, so a standard cactus potting soil mix should be sufficient.

Reply to Tamra...That's too bad. The root system on Mother of Thousands is very shallow making it easy to pull. I think using Round Up is a little extreme, since this is a very toxic pesticide and will kill whatever it comes into contact with. (kind of like using morphine when an aspirin would work just as good)

Try mixing half sand/half potting soil. Maybe throw a couple handfuls of perlite in. Usually succulents and cactus like plants lile having a lot of sand mixed in their soil.

I like adding worm castings and compost to everything in my garden, but I dont know if it would be recommended for that type of plant.

I use regular planting soil and watch how much I water. I also have them growing outside in regular dirt. They are pretty much hard to kill and I have had success with them mostly everywhere.

It appears that your plant is indoor so Inspirledhome has a great soil mix for you. I wanted to add that you appear to be doing something right already as your plant is gorgeous!

when you put your soil in put in broken clay pot with your soil it feeds a plant as well as taking up room in the pot too drain the water. also a very small amount of either clean sand as in not from the beach as it might have fleas small pea stones will help with drainage also. careful not to water more than once a week. if you're concerned when to water stick your finger in up to your second knuckle if it's dry water it if it's not don't. Healthy plant growing it's a beauty good luck with it.

I used to just use good ol' Miracle Gro potting soil. Mine used to grow so tall I had to cut them down and put the cut piece in the soil to root. They were in an East window and they even used to flower for me.

I didn't say I wanted to kill them did I?..because mostly I just mow them over and don't give them no never mind. I don't use round up anyways! nasty stuff there! We use a more natural approach with vinegar and salt and oils (peppermint and eucalyptus).
