Try vinegar and see if removes the residue. I don't know if it will take scrubbing or not.

I use a bunch of used fabric softener sheets dipped in vinegar. Took the film off that other cleaners didn't. Also noticed any softener residue slows down the buildup.

Using a squeegee will also ensure you are removing all the dissolved lime deposits.... they have them at the Dollar Tree.

Have you tried vinegar & water or the Magic Eraser. Both are good at cleaning things up. If you've tried both of them, I'd call the company that makes Lime Away to see if they have an answer.

Thank you for pointing out they carry squeegees at the dollar tree. That was very helpful. I wasn't sure where they sold them or how much they might cost.

I did not think you could use lime away on glass... but maybe you can. The best product ever I have used on hard water film? For lack of a better word is dawn dishwashing liquid. I have tried vinegar, and other things with no luck. The kicker is I have soft water(water softener) however I was told that bar soap(hubbie uses bar soap) will leave the residue (near the bottom of frameless shower doors). I tried everything over the the years to the point I never want shower doors again. But someone suggested Dawn and I thought heck it works great on my dishes! why not? Best decision ever. I used a plastic scrubbee, dawn, hot shower water. good luck.

According to that company's FAQ's, LIME-A-WAY® is not recommended for use on natural marble, stone, terrazzo, vinyl/plastic, polished or anodized aluminum, metallic or painted surfaces, colored grout or counter tops.

Shower glass IS mentioned on their label as being safe to use this product on.

Try .... 0000 steelwool it works on auto wind shields removes grim and bird droppings. With out scracing the glass.

Be sure to use at least four 0's. The more 0's the softer the steelwool.

    Good luck.

I'm with Sunnysgirl46. I use Barkeepers Friend in the spray bottle on shower stalls, tubs, and glass doors with a kitchen sponge....works terrific! I even use it on my glasstop stove, stainless sink, and laminate counters....voila, looks new. I can't say enough about it. Best of luck.

try some Calgon water softenerin heavy concentration in water and use one of those green scrubbies. It also disolves and residue on your tub. Just be careful of the slickness like a brand new tub surface after.

Try baking soda. Wet regular sponge to apply baking soda on the glass. Scrub glass with soda and rinse with regular water or a mixture 1:1 ratio water and vinegar. Wish you luck

Thanks for the reply—sorry to hear that—think we will have to buy new ones too. Was very disappointed in the lack of response & concern I received when I called the Lime Away company—they at the very least need to stop saying it’s safe for glass!
