Dollhouse From Recycled Cupboard Here's How!

My friend and her family worked together as a team to put this dollhouse together for her niece. What a great way to reuse something that is outdated but built well in its day to be sturdy and strong. Basically she used her creativity, a paint brush, and left over paints with a few odds and ends thrown in for good measure.
This was the cupboard down to the bare shelves.
She used some wooden hearts from the craft store with pegs screwed onto the bottom to make end tables and a coffee table. They she painted them.
For the fireplace in the front room she started with a small wooden corner piece and glued round smooth river rocks to it.
She painted each room according to its use in the house. Notice even the yard on the bottom shelf on what would be the base of the old hutch cupboard.
She built a bed and canopy for the bedroom.
For the bathroom she had a sink and tub, but she painted a picture for the wall and a tiny plate for the mirror above the sink. Notice the tiny commode also. The floor was tiled with kitchen back splash tiles. I love the aqua color for the bath.
The kitchen included a tiny chalk board and tinfoil stove and fridge. Mini cups turned over served as chairs at the oval table painted from more craft wood and peg leg. Lights show on the back wall. Even the floor was covered with linoleum.
Notice the finished 3 legged tables and stone fireplace with the tv on the wall. The couch came with other doll furniture along with Ken and Barbie.
A yard would not be complete without its own outdoor fake grass mat for a lawn and fish pond with more round river rocks and imitation water. Ken won't have to mow the yard and Barbie won't have to water the flowers. What a delightful dollhouse they made!

Such creativity! It looks so awesome. I love the fireplace, the "modern TV" on the wall and the delightful fish pond. Perfect extra touches to a perfect doll house. Ken & Barbie are so lucky. ;)

Great job! I'm currently racking my brain thinking of ideas on making an 18" sized doll dollhouse. I have a few ideas about repurposing an old sideboard/buffet. And flipping it to it's side .....who knows. Great work though. I'm sure the little girl who received this dollhouse loved it. There was a lot of love put into it. What a sweet gift! 😊
