So you don't want Gray. That's fine, choose a colour that feels right for your home. Not what you think others are doing. Be your own person.......

Choose a colour you love. Look at the things in your home and closet you love. you will find a pattern in your colour choices. I'm not a fan of grey in my home, I lean towards warmer shades. Right now I've used a warm cream colour with deep red accents in the fall/winter and teal accents in the spring and summer. Always choose colours you love and everyone will love it because your home should be a reflection of who you are.

John you hit the nail on the head. I agree whole heartedly with him. So grey is the new beige although there is that combo of both blended together it's just a trend so it will change so pick what makes you smile when you walk into your home not what magazines show. They don't represent you. You are unique and home expression should be top on list not current trend that will be dated and out as new trend comes along. At least walls or accessories should be you,if you want or are afraid to put color on walls then put them on pieces that you just love. It took me a long time to step out of box but was it ever freeing. Don't get me wrong I do believe that white is a gorgeous color to work with as well which allows you key pieces of art or accessories to shine but I am not a beige nor grey fan just to fit in. Nothing wrong with those colors if they speak to your soul. Hey, my LR DRIS white with organic green. I love color but I love balance. I plan on adding a warm caramel color on walls leading upstairs since can be seen from those rooms and the last color on list will be a deep teal navy blue. I picked three colors to work with that I can use my accessories with,I like metallic's. Mixing them. Since I am picking bold colors I can show off my artwork and love of mettalic sculpture work that is what speaks to me. So pick three colors and a trim color mine is white very glossy. Besides it's just paint. My furniture is solid colors. Actually expresso deep brown leatherso you am bringing nature into home. Blue ,brown and warm sand. Pick what you love and you can't go wrong.

Depending on the color on the wall now and what material the wall is made out of - prime with Kilz and then paint. It will take at least 2 coats of the primer and paint.

  • Choosing a paint color is very personal and should reflect your taste and not every trend that changes annually. Not everyone can change their wall color on a whim, as it is a project and not everyone can hire pros to come in and repaint. Here are a few links on how to choose paint colors. If you are having difficulty, you can always have a consult with an interior designer to help you out.
