  • I have never had a problem with contact paper sticking. What surface are you having difficulty with?

My contact paper has always had the opposite problem of sticking to everything it touches.

Old contact paper can lose its ability to stick to stuff but you could have a problem if what you are adhering the paper to is wet or flaking.

Some lower quality papers do not have the same thickness and concentration of glue on the backing which can result in them not staying stuck on.

Is the surface that you are trying to stick the contact paper on to clean, dry, free of any dust, lint, or greasy residue?

Did you buy adhesive Contact Paper? They also make nonadhesive and easy-release adhesive Paper. Clean the surface Dry it. Place the Contact Paper precisely against a straight edge to keep the pattern straight. Don’t stretch the paper. Use a plastic card to smooth bubbles and wrinkles toward an open edge. Use no more than a pin prick if you have to smooth a trapped bubble. Follow the directions for removing the backing. Best wishes 😇

To make contact paper stick to any surface, you can try the following steps:

    1. Clean the surface thoroughly. Be sure to remove any dirt, dust, or oil from the surface to ensure that the contact paper will stick properly.
    2. Use a roller or a smooth, hard object, such as a credit card or a scraper, to smooth out any bubbles or creases in the contact paper as you apply it. This will help to ensure that the contact paper adheres to the surface evenly.
    3. Apply pressure to the edges of the contact paper to help it bond to the surface. You can use a roller or a hard object to apply pressure along the edges.
    4. If the contact paper is still not sticking properly, you can try using a small amount of adhesive spray to help it adhere. Follow the instructions on the product and be sure to use it in a well-ventilated area.
    5. Once the contact paper is in place, you can use a roller or a hard object to apply pressure over the entire surface to ensure that it is sticking properly.

Remember to be patient and take your time when applying contact paper to ensure that it adheres to the surface properly.
