End Table Makeover & Decorating Dilemma Solution

1 Material

There was this eyesore in my living room called a subwoofer. My solution? Cut the legs off of an old end table. Clean the painted-over glass knobs and give the table top a few coats of stain. New end table. Problem solved!

After removing the legs, cleaning up the glass knobs and giving an old end table a few coats of stain, it fits perfectly on top of the subwoofer. I now have a pretty and functional end table. By using things I already had, it cost nothing!
Big, ugly subwoofer
Big, ugly subwoofer
Here was the dilemma. A big, old subwoofer taking up valuable real estate in my living room. It's not tall enough to be an end table.

The glass knobs were covered with red paint. By placing them in a pot of simmering water, the paint easily peeled off within minutes.

I'm so happy with how this corner of the living came together.

Since the end table is just resting on top of the subwoofer box, doesn't it rattle everything inside the drawer and/or vibrate the table out of place?
