Come on in and read about my Modern Christmas Home Tour featuring simple Christmas touches but not a Christmas tree.
I wanted my Christmas decor to blend better with my home decor this year. Usually, it kind of stands out like a sore thumb and I get tired of it by the week before Christmas. This year, I decided to go very simple with my decor and just have a nod to all things Christmas with greenery and twinkling lights.

Bottle brush trees were added in the kitchen and new art was put up on the shelves. Garland hangs around the kitchen window and drapes underneath the shelf to add some more cheer. I really love the twinkling lights over the sink and under the shelf!
One garland swag sits on top of our formal dining table. In the middle of the table, two brass deer stand. I love the way this simple tabletop looks.

A funny thing about those brass deer - my dad was purging a few years ago and was getting ready to donate them. I snatched them up because I absolutely loved them. I've tried decorating with them on bookshelves over the last year or two and I just couldn't get them in a spot where I liked them. I finally got the great idea to store them with my Christmas decor. Aren't they the perfect fit with Christmas?
In the eat-in kitchen, a "wintery" piece of art went up instead of the Highland Cow that we usually having hanging. On top of that, I added a greenery swag. Simple yet festive, in my opinion.
I've never thought to add a wreath on the inside of a door before but it crossed my mind to try it this year and you know what.... I absolutely love it. The wreath is just a plain green one that I used twinkle lights on. In the middle of it, I hung a small Christmas tree garland (just bunched the garland up and hung it from the wreath hanger).

I love the way the kitchen looks from this angle especially when you see the simple dining room decor too.

To be honest, this is my absolute favorite year with my Christmas decorations. I think I really embraced my home style with my decor and I'm really loving it.
