Sorry, but the texture will have to be removed to make for a smooth surface for the paper to stick to.
You could put thin drywall (1/4 inch) over the existing... it would depend on the size of the bathroom, your skill level removing the texture, or installing drywall.... just be sure and use a drywall for wet areas (like the purple one)
yes, unfortunately the texture will have to be sanded off before you will have a smooth surface to work with.
either remove the texture or use 1/4” Sheetrock over your existing walls and prep for wallpape. Your choice which you rather do?
Removing would almost next to impossible. Sanding would work but very messy. A skim coat of drywall compound over the texture would work. Takes a little practice to get a smooth finish.
