You could replace the glass table top with wood planks stained to make it look more rustic. Or keep the glass top, paint the base of the table with chalk paint and distress it. You could add a burlap table runner or table cloth to the top to make it more rustic as well.

A nice gingham table cloth over the top, and maybe a long embroidered or crochet edge runner down the middle.

Would be nice to see a photo. But nothing says farmhouse like rustic wood. You may be able to use Krylon looking glass paint on the under side of glass to give it an antiquey look if the support for the glass is not going to rub on the paint. If it is, you could put another piece of glass under it, sandwiching the paint between them.

Have you considered simply gluing wood or manufactured wood flooring to the top, then trimming with molding of your choice. You can sand the flooring and finish it any color. This would be an easy fix, and if you ask you might even get a deal on an open box. Another ideal would be to use plywood and make a box that fits over the glass top, finishing it any color you want. Either of these ideals would give the appearance of bulk and weight like farmhouse tables. Do hope this helps.

Thank you all for a quick response. All great ideas. Think I'm going to try painting the underside of the glass with spray paint and add a burlap runner. Don't have picture table it is at our cabin in tn.

I will try the flooring idea too.
